Gold Award winner, Decanter 2012. It's name AVATON means a place inaccessible and unapproachable, inviolable and sacred. A very unique wine with strong personality and very Greek as it is produced using three Greek indigenous grape varieties, Limnio, Mavroudi and Mavrotragano (aren't you glad its name is much easier to pronounce?) In fact Limnio, which is the dominant variety of the blend, is the oldest still existing ancient Greek variety mentioned by Aristotle in the 4th century BC. Entirely fermented in oak AVATON is aged up to 18 months in new French oak barrels; dark ruby color, very complex structure with spicy tones and depth it will make you a Greek wine fan instantly!
